About Me

Welcome! My name is Collin, and I am a mixed media artist. From the time I was small I have been fascinated by patterns and color. I have loved the smell of art supplies and enjoyed creating as kids do when they get to make some art.

In my adult life, I found that I loved paper as well, all kinds of paper, and I especially love patterned papers. I once owned a scrapbook and specialty paper store and that was when I learned that I love to teach. I created projects and offered workshops to teach techniques and create things suitable for scrapbooks, cards, and other papercrafts.

Flash forward to recent years when I rediscovered my love for art and opened a creative space for a studio in my home to begin creating again. At the same time, I learned about gel plate printing and that I love printing my own papers. I was fascinated by the seemingly unlimited ways I could create amazing prints that had depth and interest in layers of patterns and color.

So, you might ask, what in the world can a person do with all that paper now? It’s a reasonable question … one that I could answer with another discovery, MIXED MEDIA art! I began to follow a few mixed media artists who specialize in using printed papers and I worked on developing my techniques and experimenting with other mediums. Through the process I found my groove and realized that I love processes and creating art that is expressive and closely tied to nature.

I love using natural elements, bespoke, and found objects in my work. I also learned that other people like and appreciate the art works I create. Because of all of this, I now want to explore and share what I have learned with you and hope you will find that inner child in yourself that wants to bloom and create!
